Wrecent - didn't realize you were riding around on stock springs?  if so, you're in for a big change, especially at your size.   :thumb:  I'd guess you're not going to think their too stiff at all.  even if you 're smooth, you must have been bottoming out regularly.  say good bye to that!

Yeah I went the .85s myself, I wieght in at about 220 give or take a couple lbs.  I am also putting in 15w fork oil, I like a hard ride and have a shorter suspention travel because the clipons I installed.  After they get in and I put them in the next thing I am going to do is attack the rear shock......

PS:  My wife hates that I have spent a lot of time fixing/modding/tinkering with the bike and has invoked the don't mention it around me for more than 10 minutes a day rule.  I hate that rule, for the most part I ignore it

How the hell do y'all stay so skinny???  Unless you're 4'5" I guess...  I'm about 200-210, and will address springs when financially appropriate.  Know what you mean about dumping money into something I'm gonna sell (lusting after the SV650), but it's so much more fun to get back on once I do some work.  Like learning the mechanics, too.  Great little bike to learn to ride and learn to wrench on...  Three cheers for the cheap bike that needs mods to run right, been around for what, 20 years?, and can take a hell of a lickin (and substantial neglect to maintenance...hehehe) and still get up and run after sitting all winter.  Just make sure you get all the dog food out of your air filter that the mice stashed over the cold months...hehee
