so i found a car i wanted to buy yesturday. couldn't do it unless i sold mine. so i posted an ad on craigslist, got a guy wanting exactly what i had for the 24 hrs. of lemons race and he was going to give me exactly what the other car was for sale for. so i got up at noon (i work til midnight) drove to sf, looked at new car, drove across the bay, made a deal with racer, drove back up to north bay, got the title, drove back to east bay, sold old car, drove back to sf, bought new car, then back to northbay at 6:00. i love it when things work like this....

...all that and you managed to completely leave out everything we would actually be interested in hearing.

car sold:
1985 BMW 528e, 4dr, 5spd, worn out motor, worn out suspension.

car purchased:
1986 BMW 535i, 4dr, 5spd, fresh motor, needs suspension, but was owned by a lady who had it for 6 years and didn't need a car anymore, so what made he sell it was it cut out on her once, shop said it needed a new brain, she took it home and didn't ever try starting it again. i went to look at it, saw the ignition relay sticking up and jiggly, so i pulled it out, pinched the prongs, put it back in, car fired right up. it's going to need new wheels and tires though. it's got the original metrics. but, now i can do all the suspension stuff i wanted to do to my old car, but new it'd be a waste because the car just flat out lacked power.

and i sold the car for $500, paid $500 for the new car.

check out www.24hrsoflemons.com i'm going to try to run in the race in october. it's a great idea and a lot of fun aparently.

good enough mak? :flipoff:

see all that should have been in the first post.

I'd say bravo but I never liked the 535...I like the 2.5 more but it's personal opinion.  What wheels does it have?

ledfingers

the original metric bottlecaps. it's got the MDX's or whatever too. the metric tires that are impossible to find now... if you have any wheels that'll fit that you want to part with, let me know.

I have some 17" RK knock-offs I've been trying to sell.  Been asking $325 shipped for them...one has some rash on the outer lip and little bend on the inside.  Also had a hairline crack on the inside...been professionally repaired and I ran it for about 6 months for getting my style 68's without any trouble.

Sounds like a f*cking hoot!

A BUNCH of pictures and commentary from a previous 24 Hours at LeMons.

That's the most laughs I've had all week!

Woohoo!!!
Great to see an Alfa Romeo 75 Milano and a Lancia Delta 4WD Integrale again...
They may look crappy just now but they were road queens when I was a kid...
The Delta was a blast in WRC rallies...and the 75 (the last of true Alfa's) was Italian law enforcement's (and criminals'... :icon_mrgreen:) favourite car!
