Ok I got a 06 GS500f I have got 3300 miles on it now. It hasn't had a maint. since 800 miles. Heres my prob. The dealer I got my bike at, wont let me transfer my maint. I paid for to a suzuki dealer closer to where I live. I bought my bike in phoenix, but I resently moved up to northern arizona. So my choices are to ride my bike for 5 hrs to phx and which wil take a cpl of days. And a cpl tanks of gas. Or I can go to the suzuki dealer 30mins away from me and have them do it for $75. I dont have $75 free dollors atm or the time or money to go to phx. I was told all it needed was an oil change, chain lubed, and air pressure checked. I can do these things my self, but im worried I will void my warrenty cus Im not a Suzuki tech. Should  I just do it my self for the cost of oil, an chain lube? Or should I wait and have a pro do it for me? Thanks

these are all easy to do and you would prob be best off to elarn how to do them.  There are instructions on the wiki and the how to page of the main page.  I feel like being nice, i will hunt up the links in a minute if alpha doesn't come along with his "hey look, its a wiki" thing

I would do it myself if I were you. It's all very easy things and the stealerships are a joke anyway.

:) Thx. I think im gonna do it myself. I looked at my maint. agreement, it doesn't say anything about me voiding the warrenty if I do it. The only things that will are jetting, changin exhaust or other major work, with out going to the dealer.

And if you are concerned about voiding the warranty, the best thing to do is to keep all your receipts for the oil, filter, and whatever other parts.  Also it doesn't hurt to keep a log of what you've done.  I have a Clymer repair manual and I write my service dates, mileages, and what I did in the back of the book.

You shouldn't need this stuff, but it will help your case if you ever do run into an issue, plus the service log is nice to have so you know when you are due for the next servicing
