I hope that never happens to me, but geeze, he came in way too hot.  He is lucky that truck/trailer combo wasn't comming around the corner.  He would have nailed that trailer.   That happend to a guy with a Super Hawk here in KC.  He was able to avoid the truck, hit the trailer and died.  That sucks.  That's why you don't need to be a hero in the twisties.   Stay in your lane, for the love of God.

The first time I saw that clip I was leaning in my seat...  LEAN! LEAN! LEAN!!!!  LEAN YOU IDIOT!!!!!

Phew...  Glad it wasn't me.

I dont think he went in too hot, Im sure the bike could have made it through.  It looks like he just thought he was too hot tried to slow down but then fixated on the car in the other lane and then it all went downhill from there.

RVertigo

Probably just didn't realize that he could lean more or hang off....   Maybe he was like I am on my new scoot...  Total sissy that doesn't know what the bike can do.

I scraped a peg once and have been wimping out on every corner since then.......

That's my take on the situation.  If you get into a corner too hot, don't just panic and stand her up and lay on the brakes, odds are good that the tires will stick way more than you think they will (assuming you have decent rubber).  I ran into a spot like this down at Deal's Gap, I said a VERY short prayer and tightened my line, it held and I'm still here... and now I ride much slower on the street.

...  And even if your tires don't stick, it's better to low-side than high-side...

Mandres

I can't believe he was able to keep it upright once he went off the asphalt.  That's like a miracle.

The first time I saw that was right after the time i went into a corner a little fast, not hot and there was a deer right in my path.  I went around the dear started coming back and the deer ran at me.  I fixated on not antlers and hit a ditch.  Then i picked my bike up and threw rocks ar the deer till it ran away.  The hole time being watched from the porch by sveral rednecks drinking beer....laughing.

He was just going to fast fixated on the car and went right to it.  The rest was good luck.

Obviously he was going fast but he could have made that turn at the speed he was going. He just fixated on the car and not the turn. He had a lot more lean to go before he would have dragged his peg.

MrDan

That was crazy.  I think I need to be a little more wary on the new SVS.

Don't let that video get to you, as Foobar said, he was WELL within the limits of that motorcycle, that was ENTIRELY rider error.  I'm not saying don't be cautious, because you absolutely should be, but that was not due to his bike not being able to handle it, he f%&ked up.
