GS revs jump while accelerating?

I took my bike to the dealership this morning to show the service manager the scratches and chips they put on my new bike when they did the head gasket.

On my way home I was accelerating in 3rd at about 5.5k and the revs shot up to 8 as if it was slipping.  I let off the throttle and got back on it, same thing.

I now have about 500 kms on my bike, this is my first bike too so im still learning but I cant think of why the revs would shoot up unless the clutch was somehow sticking.  I drove for probably about 20 mins home and it ran fine so I really have no clue.

Any ideas?

The clutch cable is probably back out of adjustment.  Take it back to the stealer and let them deal with it.

If it was out of adjustment wouldnt it give me trouble more than just this one time?

Either cable is out of adjustment
OR
Clutch is slipping

Slippage depends on applied force (throttle), maybe temperature too.
Those are the only 2 variables I can think of.

Yes, and it will wear out your clutch.

I doubt it's slipping if it only has 500 km on it.

Doubtful but possible- dealer techs could have fried it on joy rides?   :o

Good luck either way
