So...  On an '01+ Frame Petcock, is the top line Res or On?


Here's my actual problem...  I seem to always be on Res, even when I'm set to on...  And Res doesn't act as On...
I'm guessing that the fuel lines were switched (by me) the last time I pulled the tank........  And if that's not the problem, then....

Can a petcock break and get stuck on Res?

(Just 'cause I'm a dirty postwhore with craploads of posts doesn't mean I know crap about working on my GS)

OK your fuel pick up - inside the tank is prolly on backwards. Wont fit perfectly but will fit well enough to be able to re fitted.
Anyway, front line from tank petcock goes to back inlet on frame petcock - that one that is pointing downward.
The back line from tank petcock goes to the front inlet on frame petcock.
All that is with the tank petcock slow fitted facing the right of bike as you are sitting on it. All the front back directions are as you are sitting on it.

On an '01+?

The frame petcock has one inlet up, one inlet back, and the down one goes into the carbs....  On the tank petcock, the front one is Res (according to the R) and the back one in On (O)...


So...  I'm still lost... 

Oh yea ... you are supposed to buy an 89-00  ... sorry ... it however now in the hands of god

OK, here's my secret schetches for 02 GS500 petcock hose hook up.  The picture in the parts fiches is all screwed up so you gotta look at 04 together with 02 diagrams.  This has worked for 2 years now.

I guess something is wrong with my petcock... GRRR
