YES!! Chop that damn fender off!! According to this sights directions, or personal preferance(which I did). I recommend cutting off as much of that monstrosity as humanly possible!! Cograts on your new bike and always ride safe. Good times!! :thumb:
I regret that I have but one ass to ride a bike with.

For the signals go to your local dealer/store and pick out some nice ones.... they wil lrun you like $20.  They will look sweet.  I have some lockhart phillips signals...

Then order some progessive springs, you won't believe the difference with them.  Do a search on the site for the link to the cheapest place to get them!!!

Welcome aboard!

check my site for lots of valuable info including a "license plate relocatio" page showing the most fender you could possibly cut off.

'93 is a good year because mine is also from '93  ;)

Leave the fender on, everyone is cutting it off so it isn't original anymore. :nana: Leaving it on would be far more original    besides, when riding in the rain it protects you (and especially the passenger) from the spray wich is thrown up by the rearwheel.

The shortened signal stalks are a good idea. The OEM ones are long and flap around too much. (they also break off when you try to take too much groceries with you :P)

Good luck with your new bike!!

Cutting the fender isn't to be original-its to look good. Leaving it may be mroe original but uglier.

The rest of the tail/taillight/bodywork protects you from the roostertail if you ride through a bit of water. If you're riding in the rain you have more to worry about than getting a little water from the rear wheel.

I know everyone does it for the looks, I was also kidding a bit.
But I'm keeping mine on, because of the spray of the rain (wich hits especially the passenger) and I have to ride often in the rain.

BTW, you shouldn't have extra worries when riding in the rain, just take it easy and be smooth, nothing will happen ;)

BT45's have excellent grip in the rain:)

I'm with you man, I like the fender, it gives it that European-mudguard look that I like so much. Ever see an European '82 Yamaha 750 Seca with its mudguard? It just looks wicked! We're rebelling against you, Pablo!      just kidding!

Good to know the BT45's have good grip in the rain. I'm lookin' forward to riding in the rain this year.

In fact the problem is the mud from the rear wheel, not the water. ;)
