Thanks Lucky13!
I understand the thick skin and autism connection.
WE have a close family friend and her son has autism. I have spent a lot of time with him, and can imagine the challenges of parenting. Money issues seem so petty when compared to something of that nature.

Hopefully I can help in the future. I can only hope to be the plethora of knowledge that many here are.
Good luck with you and yours also.

Its amazing how thingsa re put in perspective when you walk away from a conflict for even a short time.

Hiya Rich,

I don't have a problem with you, but I definately had a problem with your post attacking Lucky13. I don't have a problem with anybody living the good life, so to speak. More power to them, but the things you said in that were completely uncalled for and inappropriate. That's why I responded as I did.

When you make a post like you did, you have to expect some flak over it. Maybe you're not spoiled, but that's certainly how you came across in your post. I guess next time just have a look over what you wrote and think a little before you click on "submit"  Telling people to F-off (amongst other things)isn't the way to go (especially when they didn't do or say anything to deserve it).

Anyway, hope you don't leave over this, just think before you go on the offensive in the future.  :thumb:

So yeah...bikes are cool

Rich500,
Cool. Like JohnNS, I got mad when it got nasty, but that's in the past. Stick around, everyone makes mistakes and learns.

Lucky13, you must have thick skin. My family is from Marksville, Louisiana and arguments tend to last years.

Let's all go have a beer.

"Dont generalize about kids. Ashman proved very well that there are kids who dont have all the luxuries. I am so impressed by people like him who do struggle through college to make something of themselves."

Hey,
I'm not struggling, hear that ladies, heh heh, i promise no more dates to taco bell, heh heh, no seriously, Whats so wrong w/ sneaking into the movies thru the back door? Gives the date a feeling of suspense, woooo! suspense! As far as struggling through college ok yes, i do struggle...
with things like CALC and ACCOUNTING! god i hate math!

But Rich i'm no prize myself, my parents bought a house for me to live in for school and my power and utilties are paid by them. BUT i feel guity as hell about it.  I'm relient upon my parents: health insurance, housing, tuition. They dont have to support me n e more, they choose to and i recognize that and see that I owe it to them to pick up as much stuff as I can while holding down school nd my meager b.s job. So maybe I'm spoiled? I dunno, my car, bike ect r in my name paid in hard earned cash money. BLA! I dunno.

QuoteI think I may leave this forum

Rich,

Don't leave the board man!!! That would be crazy.  Arguing (open debate) is the American way!  :thumb:   That being said, name-calling isn't, but I think eveybody has made their apologies, so I'll let that drop.

This is a great example of the dangers of stereotyping.  It may be that more teenagers don't understand the value of a buck than us 30'ish folks, but that doesn't mean that any kid we meet on a bike got it for free... :bs:

We all have to be careful about making blanket statements about any group of people.  After all, we're all motorcyclists... we get stereotyped as much as any group of people, and we all know how crappy it feels when others make assumptions about us individually based on their limited experience or generalizations.

Yep, I got to say it,

Rich, I think you have it alright, you have a good work ethic, you know the value of your vehicles, and have that in perspective. You ride. And when you fall off you get back on. Don't leave the board.

Have you ever noticed motorcyclists and people who drive trucks tend to be practical people?
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
