Use a RV over flow catch can (available at auto parts store) and get carbs and manifolds and get it running before you plonk the money for the rest.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

dgyver

I have a few parts you may want, depending on the level you want to restore.

brake light lens
turn signals
seat cover (I think it has a small tear in the back)
right side plastic (I think it is the right side but needs repainting and has a piece missing but is covered by the seat)
non-stock mirrors
stock fuel lines (from a running crashed biked)

I will let this stuff go cheap. I can get pics. Let me know if there is anything else you need.

I may I have a front wheel that I can sell.

Common sense in not very common.

amcline

yea, pm or email me the prices on this stuff, my first goal is to get it running and verify its good first, but that should be in a bout a week, then i will need most of what you listed,,,

amcline

ok i should have carbs and front brake lever assembly coming in the mail now,

i thought of a couple other things i need

rear brake lever, just the metal arm and maybe the rubber boot for it, (somone bent mine up like for a shorter person but im tall)

gast tank rubbers, all of them,,, my tank is missing the rubber trim around bottom edge, the front rubber for the mount, and the 2 rubber washe type things that hold the tank to the bracket.

i also will need the speedo/tach plastic casing, and actual mount plate, and the rubber ring for them(i dont need the actual speedo or tach)

and i also will need the headlight mounting hardware and any grommets,

oh yea, and a seat still. but after seeing the prices maybe ill just recover mine...

cool, yea i may definatly take that front wheel, lemme know when you are ready to get rid of it and ill find out when ill be in the area again.

oh, do you know what sizes will fit on the rear? i was hoping to get a new rear tire but with a bit more "crown" or height as some would say, the stock 140-70-17 i think it is, is pretty flat and low profile...
96 project GS500e  Ex-stunters bike now getting saved and hopfully restored.

Sinthetic

1 have a 150/70 on mine and its tall , stock is 130 i think. Im gonna get rid of the rear also im going for a lower profile. Soon as my new ones arrive ill email you

got the tank on
fixed fuel leak (der- yea the one old line i used was bad!)
checked plugs
lubed cyls
primed carbs
conect batt and hit the switch,,,,,,,, nothing
check starter wire, good
switch, good
drilled out rusted bolt in headlight
checked clutch saftey switch, bad, well somtimes, lol so after 3-4 tries i just bypassed it
hit the switch and........

f-in battery is dead!!!!!!
er, guess i can wait one more day, ill have to go buy a batt charger now i guess.

Anakist

Yeah I gave up on my clutch switch and just bypassed it in the headlight. Would take three or four goes to start it holding the switch and pumping the clutch.
