I have a 07 GS500, (1200 KM) I have ridden many bikes chain and shaft drive and for some reason with this new GS I notice that there is a slight clunk or tick  comming from somewhere in the drive train while rolling on from a dead stop in first gear.

Just as everything comes together I hear the click and I have never noticed this with any bike I have ridden and the bike has had its first service and they haven't found anything. I keep hearing it and it bothers the heck outta me.

Anyone else have the same thing with a GS? First gear roll on from a dead stop click? This is the only GS I have ever ridden so I don't know if its normal....

Thanks,

Pete.

I hear noises, but not anything like what you are describing.

Sorry Bud

Check your chain slack; if it's too loose the sound may be from the c/s sprocket reeling in the top run of chain and allowing the lower run to loosen and contact the frame.  Or, your rear axle is loose and the engine is pulling the axle up, tight, against the adjuster plates.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.
