First and foremost, she has no title.  I've started the lost title process and said paperwork will be furthered onto the new owner.

my mother may actually buy the bike but I've learned not to hold my breath waiting for her to come through on anything.

1980 CX500 Deluxe

The last bit of work she "needs" to have done are replacing fork seals and the wiring harness...both of which I'll be doing this next week.  as with any old bike there's always plenty of cosmetic stuff to be done and what not.

I've got a video of her here:

http://photoartclub.net/cx500/cx500.mpg

She has 31000 miles
Uni filters
Full one-off exhaust
Jet-matched for mods and enviroment
310mm front rotor
2-piston front caliper (modern Tokico, rebuilt)
Stainless front line
New seat cover (small scuff)
New Dunlop tires
New Fork Seals
65mm preload spacers
10wt fork oil
NEW! Wirinig harness
Fresh POR15 in tank (zero rust before hand)
100% rust free
New plugs, wires, filters, bulbs, etc
New battery
New rear brakes
EXCELLENT MOTOR!  145lbs+ cold compression!
Weighs in at a whopping 440lbs wet and ready to roll!

Bird plate is only held on with a couple zip ties...easily removed.  She'll come with the right side cover, some turn signals, a spare set of carburetors, and some other odds.

I want $1000 for her...I have over 100 hours in her and nearly $1500 sunk.  I can have her delivered to any address inside the continental United States for $1450 (bike + shipping).  I found a bike that'll be better for me and the misses to cruise around on and need to get the startup funds for that project.

If a quick response isn't received here then email me at makenzie71@gmail.com and I'll get back pronto.  on a slow connection so fast replies are difficult.

what has this world come to when one cannot depend on ones own mother :dunno_white:

If you don't mind my asking, what is the problem with the title?

The reason I ask is, at least in GA, you can't get a tag without insurance, and you can't get insurance without a title. And it has to be registered within something like 10 days of purchase/import to the state or you get charged some extra fees.

Any further info on the Maggot, as you so fondly called it?

Problem with the title is that it's AWOL.  the guy who owned it previously can't find it.

However, in GA, you don't need a title to insure or register a bike made before 1986.

QuoteBuying Without a Title or Registration
Titles are not required in Georgia for vehicles 1985 or older, but you will need to provide the Bill of Sale when you register the car in your name, so be sure to take it with you to your local Tax Commissioner's Office. If the car is newer than 1985, the Bill of Sale might still work in place of a title.

I must've misread it or something(it has been a little while since I looked it up).

well it's back up for sale.  someone parked a dodge between my bimmer's fenders...and didn't have insurance.  He manned up and is paying out the damage but I'm having to foot the biggest of the bill at the moment.

She now has 40mm forks, 32" MX bars, and she needs a new speedo cable.

Still looking for $1000.
