Desert Eagles are worthless.  Saying you have a .50 caliber handgun is pretty fun bags though.

Yeah it is a show peice, he rarely shoots it.  He pretty much got it so he couls say he had it.  It also cost a fortune to shoot....

Once you get used to the recoil are they fairly accurate?  I only put a single clip through one (.50AE) so I don't have much experience, but I was all over the map, then again, all you need is one hit to drop whatever you're shooting at, so I guess it does the trick... as long as there are no bystanders.

yeah, his is really acurate.  I was hitting beer cans at 50 yards no problem.  Mind you the beer cans came from the night before.  Problem is that the thing is so heavy that after about 3 clips you arm needs a break

There is a guy around here that has one and shoots it at the range regularly.  I don't really know him but I have shot it before.  Expected it to kick a lot but it didn't, it was pretty smooth and split the bolder that I was shooting at in half, all 5 times I shot.  The guy laughed and said that I should teach fractions

PS: range is only 400 ft long so hitting anything with a rifle is a easy as pie if you know how to aim.

Yeah, everyone is surprised when they shoot a true .50 rifle.  the M2 kicks a little more but not like you would think for a fully automatic .50.............I love the barrett, I went wild boar hunting with one.  I made a headshot at 700m and it obliterated the head :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

Sadly not allowed firearms over here very easily, and they are a pain to upkeep- regular visits from firearms officers checking how your guns are stored, renewing license's regularly. It really is a pain. However spending half my life on my girlfriends farm we have a few shotguns around which i shoot from time to time. We go clay pigeon shooting regularly and pest control, rabbits and rats etc...

I recently had the chance to shoot the farm owners new browning cynergy over under. I can honestly say ive never seen such a beautiful gun that was so light and easy to use. I've shot alot of shotguns and find them to be tiresome to be honest, fun shooting but not fantastic skill involved unless shooting game and they really wear you down swinging heavy guns that kick a fair bit when shot. However the cynergy was a dream to shoot, it has interchangable rubber recoil pads on the stock and it weighs so little. Fantastic gun and if any of you are in to clay pigeon shooting or hunting with a shotgun i would definatly suggest it.

Im really eager to shoot some different types of guns now really. All i've shot is shotguns and .22 airrifles but nothing like a handgun or proper rifle. Would be great to experience shooting those and to find out if they are easier/less tiresome than shotgun shooting.

The firearms laws are stricter there than they are here & they're a PITA here. I enjoy my shooting too much, so it's a matter of putting up with the rules & regulations to keep my guns.  :2guns: Plus I want my boys to be able to take up shooting when they get old enough to do it legally.

Well i just want to feel as thought i can own a gun, go shoot regularly without the constant worry of if people saw you with a gun case, how to transport  your gun safly, putting up with the go knows how many security checks yearly to keep your guns and relicensing yourself regularly to own them. Its just such a hassel.

It's nice and a little disconcerting when you walk around with a sidearm and most people dont even flinch.  Thats why mostly  I carry concealed.

Kasumi

The only thing i think is counterproductive is with lots of people over there carrying concealed or unconcealed i think it far reduces the intended affect of carrying a firearm. It seems that criminals are far less likely to be affected by a firearm been pulled on them over there than they are here. If you get ARV (armed response) called on you over here. You will drop any damn weapon your holding because if any police officer pulls a gun on you over here its far far more likely your going to be shot than if a police officer pulled a gun on you in America. We use guns far less and they are impossible to carry with you, therefore the affect of a firearm on a criminal is a huge deterant as they are only called on very serious occasions.

One benefit is a very small percentage of the people carrying are trained in any way so their ability to execute a shot for effect is very limited.

if u want a fun uh...gun to shoot, look up the MK19.  to bad it has to be mounted but if you hit ur target u wont take anything home from it but maybe a skin fragment or some guts.  i had to qualify on a m107 in iraq and with a .50 you dont even have to hit ur target, just get within a few inches and the sonic waves will tear off a limb.

I'm thinking not so much man.  There's no mass backing up the sonic wave, a supersonic burst might blow out your eardrum, and a jet engine wake might f%$k your world up if you drive behind it, but even 100,000 pounds of force (from a jet engine) hitting you for the length of time a bullet shockwave does, isn't going to do a damn thing to you, let alone shear off a limb.

i was acting as spotter for my section leader and his m107.  our target was walking so we adjusted for his speed and as we fired the guy stopped.  i saw where the round landed behind him.  it ripped off part of his arm and spun him around.  he bleed out b4 we got to him.  if you hit a guy it'll just blow him into 2 or 3 pieces and a mist.
