ok guys I might be answering my own question here but here we go.  I rejetted today according to the wiki page with the full vance and  hines.  My filters didn't fit, so i left the stock box with no filter to test it out.  I also realized that I accidently added two washers instead of one.  While riding, the bike was backfiring like crazy.  I know i'm an idiot for screwing up in a few spots, but when i fix the washers and the filters should i be fine, or do you think something else carb related is making it backfire?  Thanks

Also you say "your filters didn't fit" What does that mean ? You re-jetted and your air filter didn't fit I dont see why your filter would not fit after a re-jet

I rejetted for the k and n pods and the vance and hines full.  My pods weren't big enough to fit on the carbs.

Pretty much what I'd expect from running super rich, which you know you are.. can't say everything will be perfect once you get a better-flowing filter on there, but I don't think the symptoms imply that it won't, either.
