4.5 X 17 in the back

3.5 X 19 in the front

I'm putting these wheels on my CX...I think...later.  I haven't decided if I want to run the spokies or the Comstars.  I'm leaning toward the Comstars because they have reletively new tires ono them and the brake upgrades are easier.  I like the spokies because they're about 8lbs lighter a piece, they're an inch wider on both ends, and old school spokies are just pimp.

it's these wheels:

Spokes equal tubes, I remeber the day's of tube tires on street bikes. They sucked.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I remember the days when all I had to do to fix a nail problem was swap out a $3 tube instead of a $4 plug or a $10 patch.  The days when if you did hit a nail it didn't mean a new $100~150 tire.  And the days when standards roamed around being the badasses of the lot.

So would anyone like to address the question?  I can run a sportier tire in the back but i'd like to find something complimentary to put on the front.

I thought one of the questions was spokies or comstars so go jump in a mountain stream and cool your jet's.

How many miles per year will you ride it? What type of riding will you do?

So how about this Dunlop 491 elite II's yeah its a touring tire but youll get great mileage and to answer your question 3 plugs per tire max no more than 1 plug every 25% of the diameter of the tire and since you most likely don't ride like a racer you'll be fine.

BTW I ran 491's on my wing for 6,500 miles with 2 plugs patches in the rear and had no problem getting full service out of the tire.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

Hmmm, I can't be of any help on tire selection, but I agree on the spoked wheels.  I love the look, especially if you paint the rim black, especially on a cafe racer...  check it out:

Probably be less of a headache getting tires for the spokers since they're wider,
but that's balanced with the pain of working on the brakes.

But they do look a helluva lot better.  8)

Guess you're not selling it.. oh well.
