can i run a front tire with a sidewall aspect ratio diff then the back, say a 70 in the front and a 60 in the rear?? how would it affect handling?

Can you?? or should you???  as long as they aren't hugely different go for but allow your self time to get used to the new handling just like you would on a new bike

For better or worse I just ordered a pair of metzler z4's 120/70 17 and 160/60 17 for my bandit. hope they get hear in time.

if anything it should be bigger in back(taller) and smaller in front.

at least thats how it is in cars, bigger in front makes it push where as bigger in the back makes it dive to the apex better, i would expect the same out of a bike, but what do I know

I'm sure it'll be fine.  Most supersport bikes run with like 120/70 in front and 180/55 in back, IIRC.  What are the stock sizes for the Bandit anyway?

Yes you can, in either direction.  Meaning you can put a 110/70 on the front and a 140/80 on the rear, or a 120/80 on the front and a 150/60 on the rear.  In the first case, you could even go to a 130/90.  In the latter, I've seen 180/55 and 190/55.

the aspect ratio only means how tall the tire is in relation to the section width.  i.e. a 150/60r17 tire is 5.9 inches wide and 60% of that is the sidewall.

that's how to figure out sizing... do that and you can't go wrong.

stock is 120/60 17 160/60 17  I assume it will be fine. I got a good deal since the Z4 discontinued and replaced by the Z6. I had a Z4 and Z3 on my GS at for a while, they were pretty good tires.
