I don't think 06 will work out of the box.I believe the stem is to big around and long to work in a GS.You could machine the gix stem or modify the GS stem.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

If you mean what else do you need:
You will need to do custom fabrication to either make the gixxer stem fit the GS frame or to install the GS stem into the gixxer triples.  You will also need a wheel and tire with rotors.  Check ebay.....or you could get the wheel/rotors/tire from the dealer but be prepared to pay several hundred........  Unless you can machine parts yourself and have some fabrication background you will need to find a machine shop that will work on bikes.....expect to spend 100 there.......you 'might' be able to do everything for 200 if you bargain hunt :dunno_white:

yes thast wat i meant lol
cant i use the stock gs wheel? do the dual rotors mount right up?
cause the stick gsxr wheel is aout as big as a gs rear wheel

No, the stock wheel can be used on some Katana front ends but not on a gixxer.    Everything is different sized, the axle is thicker the bolt patterns are different......If you somehow spaced out a GS wheel to fit I wouldn't ride it.......it wouldn't be stable......I'm sure Dgyver or one of the other custom gods can tell you what year/model wheel's will work.

What did you pay for the forks??

drowningbird808

ha i just sent you a message theyre 100 bucks i geuss he wants to get rid of it
but how big is the gsx front wheel

gsxf(katana to 98) is 3.0 same as GS.99 up is 3.5.gixxer is 3.5 all years if my info is correct.

Hm , tis why i went with the kat front end , i Knew it fitted  ,with very little work ,. problme was i had 2 by a whole katana , saying that , the 2 brand new tires that was on it , was about how much i payed for it ,. now i have a engine in my garden , that still needs cutting out the frame ..

To avoid Thread Jacking , Looks like theres gonna have to be alot 2 get it to fit

ummmm I'm pretty sure the GS has used the same size front wheel from 89 to present......either way it's not going to work on a GSXR front end because of the different style axle :thumb:

spc

Yeah Jay it's gonna take some work and time and money but 06 is a USD fork so it'll look killer :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:

nastynate6695

correct the front wheel is the same...not much has changed on the ol gs.

Jay_wolf

Yea... i love USD , but if i wanted them i would have got Rgv 250 Forks ;)

i wanted a mean Look , * but easyer to do fork seals etc

Naw...I was confused, sorry.  It all comes down to he has to buy a front wheel :icon_rolleyes:

dgyver

You will need to address the stem. Either have it turned to fit the GS or swap a GS stem into the GSXR triple, if it will fit snug enough.

You could try to space as GS wheel and axle but I would not mess with doing that. You will need a GSXR wheel, axle with spacers and rotors. This time of the year and being a newer year/model...expect to pay at least $200-300 for the wheel and $100+ for the rotors. I believe these are the skinny spoked wheels and are common to bend.

You did not specify which model (600, 750, 1000) the forks are from but 05, 06, 07 wheels should fit. I really have not kept up much with the models past 02, so you better double check on what are compatible.

A few other items needed....clip-ons, master cylinder, brake lines, fender, headlight brackets, 120 tire....

A couple of other things to be fabricated or modified....the steering stop will need to be made smaller, mounts for the gauges, mirror mounts.....

Common sense in not very common.

+1

Like I said, I think you got in a little over your head, but if you happen to get it all together somewhere a couple hundred bucks down the line your GS will have a killer pair of USD forks :icon_twisted: :thumb:
