Sad day...the GS500 is gone.

Hello,

I sold my GS500 today and I am feeling blue.  The weather this morning was perfect for a motorcycle ride: cool, low humidity and gorgeous blue skies.  I didn't take her for a last ride though because the new owner was coming with cash in hand and I did not want to jinx myself.

I bought my 2002 GS500 the first week of November 2002 with only 325 miles on her odometer.  I will always remember the day I saw her sitting there at Cycle Specialties motorcycle shop.  It was love at first sight.  I was 50 years old and this was my first bike.  Man oh man, I felt like a kid at Christmas, I was so excited.

For nearly five years I have had alot of fun riding around on my Suzuki.  It's been fun cleaning her up and learning how to work on the motorcycle so I could keep her in good shape.  However, over the last few years I was riding her less and less, so it was time to let her go and let some other lucky guy enjoy her.

You guys have a great group here and you have been a big help to me over the years.  I wish you all the best of health and happiness.  Enjoy your bikes and stay safe out there on the road.

Farewell,

Bob

Oh, Man.  Sorry to see you leave us.

Everyone has a different reason for picking up the sport -- and for eventually leaving it.  I speak for many in that we wish you well in your future interests, and don't feel guilty -- thanks to you someone is now as excited as you were five years ago.

That's a beautiful bike and it sounds like you have many fond memories to hold on to.
Maybe in the future you'll get the bug and ride again.
Maybe it will be another GS500.
That's what happened to me and you can bet that this group will still be here, going strong.

Be safe and be happy.
