Jay: instead of swapping out engines,  See if you're satisfied with a boring and cam reworking.......maybe mill/port the heads.   But I wouldn't do more than bore to 555 without having a really good deal at a metal shop

Well yea , well , if i do it , and i dont like , ill sell it , im sure theyre would be a ton of ppl in the uk wanting a 555cc .im not sure , where to start , eg , who would do it , a machine shop. but would thye no what there doing ?

haha 2-liter turbo...sure 380hp but youor GS has more torque.

Your right mak , jap engines have very little torque , just high reving , and in the evo case , all its speed and power is the damn turbo lol , they did this test on top gear , and they had a Evo 8 the 360 FQ  , and a 1.4 litre Diesal , put it in 5 gear and had a 'drag' the 1.4 litre diesal won....
