Rear shock lubricant?

Anyone know what lubricant works best on the rear shock- linkage, hydraulics, et al? Also wondering if anyone has any ideas about the air filter question I posted earlier.

Thanks

I have never heard of lubing the rear shock but I could be wrong. I missed your air filter question. What was it about ?

The needle bearings at the pivot points of the linkage and shock should probably be cleaned out and re-lubed with bearing grease every now and again. It would depend a lot on how much rain riding you do, how many miles, how the bike is stored, etc. I suspect every 3 to 5 years would be often enough.

The shock itself doesn't need lubrication. It probably wouldn't hurt to clean it off occasionally. If the shaft gets pitted, it will leak, so you wouldn't want to store it with road salt on it or something.
