Lotsa people rag on Buell for having an antiquated engine.  Well now they can quit their bitching because there will be a new model in 2008 with an 1125cc, 72 degree v-twin, water cooled engine, putting out over 140hp.  This info is according to a MCN video that leaked out earlier today for a while.  The official announcement should be tomorrow.

Dare I say it. I told you so in a previous thread. The head of our local Buell owners club hinted around about this a few months back. He aparrently knows Eric Buell fairly well.
BTW its a Rotax engine. KTM uses Rotax.

And I for one like the Buells. Torque is your friend. :thumb:
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I don't really like buells, but that one looks pretty sharp. :thumb: :thumb:

I'm hoping this will drive down the used prices of the current models... I could see myself on a CityX or even a Ulysses (If my inseam is tall enough).  Not that the current models will really be going anywhere for a while.  I really don't have a need for the power of the new water cooled bikes, and probably prefer the simplicity of the air cooled engine.

I am looking forward to hearing about all the innovative features on the new bike

Common sense in not very common.

Well it's officially been unveiled.  Linky  Very ugly IMHO, but I think form follows function in this case and it should be a strong performing motorcycle

I've gotta feeling it will give the 1098 a run for it's money*, and it stickers for 12K, but oh so ugly :icon_rolleyes: (I can't stand fairings that stick out so far over the front wheel, the rest of the bike is fine though)

*looking forward to comparo's to see how it stacks up

I dig the lightnings, they are very cool bikes.

I dunno, I think they're really targeted towards very different markets.  Would be interesting to see, though.
