so, i take it i have to drill out the rivets from the can. now, once i do this, will all the pieces disconnect, or is there some trick to it? (like, unscrewing it or something) anybody done this before? give me the low down and what size rivets. thanks.

i thought about that today myself. but alas, the factory muffler (on my '97)is welded at both ends, the rivets hold that cover on. the muffler (yours) that you are refferring to is stock yes?
