Thats all I'm saying on this topic..this is what I planned to spend my life doing but clearly I took a completely different route.. While I could say a lot here...I think my words would be wasted so I won't even bother..

Cloning animals / plants for food would be a great way to end world hunger.  As for cloning extint animals I don't see a need.  Their time has passed the world has moved on leave them be.  Same for dead people.  Unless you going to clone Elvis. ( That last part is a joke)

You do know that it's not like the movies, right?  They take Subject A and put him into a little box, push a button, and Subject A2 pops out of an adjoining box as an exact replica...doesn't happed.  A clone has too be born...not going to do anything about world hunger...

I am happy with my beliefs but I also acknowledge that if I had been raised by different people that I likely could have ended up with different beliefs. My political outlook is a result of my experiences, and had I been raised by Rush Limbaugh I expect that I would be running around hating everyone who wasn't white, male, and protestant.

I was agreeing with you, @$$hole, and trying to make a more persuasive argument than the clunker you dropped on page 1. Since your approach clearly wasn't going anywhere I tried a different route to the same conclusion.

If I thought stating the obvious was needed  I would have gotten out my spoons.  I guess I never was a real big fan of underestimating people's intelligence.

i think public schools are crappy because this generation is allowed to be lazy and mess up and not care if they get educated. very few in my generation have anything hard inside them; no drive, no passion, no originality. no sense of having to work for anything. and when they do have to work for anything, they complain and wimp out.

That comes from home...not school.  School has nothing to do with a person's integrity...school is only a test of a person's integrity.  if you want to point fingers, look at the people who do things like give their kids an allowance for sitting around masturbating and playing video games all day.

No but schools do come into play...shitty schools (and states) dumb down tests. In NY a regents high school diploma used to be something to be proud of. Now everyone has to have one and they've made the state tests easier to accommodate the kids who are lazy. Yeah we have honors regents now..but its basically worthless...the teachers just teach to the test..and NY schools as a whole are pretty good..

When I went to college (and I worked hard in high school very hard) I was smacked against a brick wall when I realized that all of the kids there had a better education than I did. It was hard trying to catch up to them and keep up with my classes at the same time. People who went to good public schools were still bounds ahead of me let alone the private school kids.

Why would we want to dumb down public schools  even more?

Not saying schools aren't dumbed down, but that's book smarts.  I know people out there with tremendous integrity that can only tell you the capitol of Texas and do only the most basic of multiplication.  I also used to work with a fellow who had tremendous book smarts...memorized everything from every text book he ever cracked open...but the man had absolutely no common sense or integrity.  The man quit on us one day mid-shift just because he found a posted ad saying some company would start people out at twice the hourly wages, then he didn't understand why we wouldn't take him back after he was turned down.

I think popular culture has let down today's youth.  The see all these sports figures and actors and rappers making millions and they they that they can either be a star or win the lottery.  No work ethic or drive passed on from their parents OR their educators.  I think back on it, and there were maybe two teachers that made a difference in my life and they both taught me between the 6th and 8th grade.  By time I was a freshman in highschool, I was leaps and bounds ahead of everyone.  Just because some teachers raised the bar and then did not allow me to fail.

Ithink we should study whats nessesary to learn how to regenerate healthy cells and stuff like that, don't really care for clone's all that much. If the tech. is used for something good then ok.


I think it's mostly the parents fault. As a kid I was jelous of the spioled kids who had the best video games and other mind numding toys. My parents could not and would not buy them but they would take us on hikes, to play ball as a family, and many other activities.

There parents would give to them as children to try and give them a good childhood and make sure the other kids didn't have anything that their own didn't have. They did not make their kids work for anything. Now I see those same kids still asking there parents for things they need. Most of them get it.

My family was broke when I was a kid. I saw my parents work very hard to have the little they had. If I wanted something I had to work for it, I might have bought it with only my money but they wanted me to learn that most important lesson.  Now that I'm grown I also work very hard, unlike my parents I know how to save money and spend wisely but I got the base from them.

The school system sucks anyway, Like Trick said in one of his songs Why are the judges makeing more then the teachers.

And don't get me started on the media. it's all about the real world let me tell ya Seems like all those reallity shows have inflouenced our youth. I see kids 16-20ish all over acting like little shits and thinking it's ok. What about those little getto kids from around the world acting all hard all the time like move star thugs. I went to a club and saw a few guys pissing in a sink like they are really doing something.Thats really makes me mad. I lived in the getto I know whats it's like it really sucks and you deal with it but when I firsted moved to NC I went Ashville and could not believe the way most of those boys were acking, you had to sit back and laugh at them. That hole running around like little punks would have got your butt kicked in my old hood. 

When I was younger I thought people that said things like this where just full of it. but it didn't take long for me to realize how much impact media has on our kids. I watch MTV everyday as a kid, you can believe that my kids are not going to watch it under my roof.

Let me add lack of punishment, most of the assholes of today didn't get busted as a child.

there's a huge difference between MTV back in my day and MTV today...I don't think anyone should be allowed to watch MTV today...
