I know people overbore stuff. You dont machine the head to the larger bore right ???
What head gasket to use - stock ???
This is a trick Q ... GR motor is 3mm larger bore and 13.6 mm longer stroke.
If I fit GS head, lets say CC'ed for the right compression, do I fit a GR head gasket, or GS ???
Cool.

I would have to go with GR to match the cylinder bore.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

I would also go with the GR gasket.....since it is designed for the GR bore diameter ya know 3mm bigger......

BikeBandit has them listed for $30.31.

Cometic can make a copper gasket.

You could also contact "coppergasket63" on ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/copper-gaskets-unlimited. He should be able to make one.

I ground the ID on a stock GS gasket and it ran just fine on the 555.
Common sense in not very common.

Yea yea 30.31 ... I only paid 20 for the GR ... what ... no ... 2000 Yea ...
BTW, the Gaskets are larger than the bore aren't they ... if the 3mm would matter I'd grind away ... Lets see, may run all GR ... especially if carb fits ... and GR cam or GS cam ??? Yup more questions.
Cool.

It has been awhile since I looked at a head gasket, but I thought they are the same as the bore.

Personally I would get a copper gasket. May cost more initially but being reusable it will cost less over time.

I have not compaired the GR cam profile to see if it different than the GS. Either way, you will need to use the GR sprockets.

gs500f-gaz

if your really not sure, get one made or make it your self out of gasket paper. i would on a landrover of mine. i even used a side of a corn flakes box on a old 125cc bike of mine.
no bike compairs, no bike comes close, no bike is better. cant put the gs500 down

Oh c-mon gaz.....cardboard gaskets  will stand the low pressure/low heat found in the water cooling jacket but they wont last 2 mins on the the head.
