Just out of curiosity: what will your next bike, after the GS500, likely be?

2004 Yamaha FZ6

I'm planning on picking one up sometime around May/June 2004 if all goes well.

SV650S probably.. though my father thinks I should get that new Aprilla!

Trying to decide between a Super Hawk, TL-R or maybe a Gixxer 1K but they are still pretty expensive. The RC-51 is very appealing as well and if I can find one that isn't way too expensive or been wheelied to death, then that will most certainly be my new bike.

Byt no YZF, I'd add the TL/S to the list and make that 91 or 92 and up F2, and ofcourse the V-rod for my cruiser itch.

i would like a sports tourer like teh honda vfr (i dont think i want a pure sports bike crotch rocket). Like a Honda Silverwing scooter or a suzuki burgman 650 and maybe a cruiser like the honda shadow.

Jeezus, Wrencher ... don't fall in love with dangerous bikes or anything!  Ever ridden a liter Gixxer or an RC51?  I have never Feared the Reaper nearly so much as when I rode the big Gix ... 1/32" of turn on that throttle and the thing absolutely snarls forward.  Kind of like the feeling those magicians in Vegas who trained tigers and got bitten by one last week must have had.  I shudder to think what would happen on the GSXR if, for example, you absent mindedly mishandled the clutch by not concentrating for a moment.  On a Harley or GS, that's absolutely no big deal as the bike will just stall or whatever.  On the Gix, yikes, I can't even imagine it ...

Yes, I have ridden all of the bikes on that list except for the TL-R.

The bikes them selves are not dangerous unless they are in poor mechanical condition. They only become dangerous when matched with an opperator that can't handle them. An RC-51 in the hands of a capable rider is no more dangerous than the GS-500 in the hands of an inexperienced rider.

If I were buying it this month, it'd probably be a Honda Interceptor (VFR) or Triumph Sprint ST.  I have the most fun on 100+ mile rides, and I'd love to be able to make them even longer.

I think either an SV650S or a FZ6. Depends on which one I find used Cheeper.  I like their look and the fact that they can goooo!!!  

I probably wont be getting a new/another one for awhile maybe end of next summer or the summer after that. Im having fun on the GS!!

I am most definitely undecided.  I really like the new FZ6, though I'm not much of a yamaha fan.  I was also looking at '01-'03 Gixxer 600 or 750, or a prev-gen ZX-6 or 7.  I just need to test ride as many as I can when I get home.  Of course, after not being on one for a year, I'm gonna have to ride the GS like crazy and get back into it.  I am also going to take a racing school when I get home.  Either FastTrack Riders or Keith Code's CSS.

98-01 VFR 800 most likely (and keeping the GS for city/tight roads/race track).
