I have been using the search button over and over and over again with the same results, and I just flat don't understand the srinath flange and how that is working on a slip on can.  Could anybody explain the meaning of a "slip-on" can to me.   I know how exhaust works typically but am new to bikes.  I have looked into the v&h system for 300 bucks or so, but would definitely prefer to go cheaper if possible.  What is the cheapest possible exhaust system that I could buy and install myself with no welding.  I have also been looking at all the youtube videos of the different sounding exhausts.  By far the top two would be the yoshi and the "vampire" exhaust which is probably a muzzy with a sticker.  The vance sounds raspy on all the videos I have heard but have never heard one in person.  Please ANYBODY help me clear up some confusion. 

cheapest for a small performance and sound gain is to send the exhaust to me.  $125 and I gut the muffler and install a straight core and sosme good matting, then put an aluminum or carbon or whatever I can find sleeve over it.  Gaurunteed fit and they sound decent.

Not much out there you can do that requires to user fabrication/welding/modification that's cheaper than V&H and such...

get the full exaust from jarden headers and all 394 i belive . no welding suppose to be direct bolt on

Mak knows what hes doing , Plus , i havent seen one before so get it , the stock exhaust looks okish , size wise , but crappy sound and cheap metal cover , if mak makes it look sweet , and its a race can , why not for 125 bucks, u cant get cheaper

Geez, I didn't pay nearly that much for my Jardine.. maybe $325.

I started off down the Srinath flange route, but sold it after the Jardine became available. I like stainless.

Best bargain is the OEM exhaust that comes on the bike, sounds better too.   

Well, it looks like when the weather turns foul, mak's getting my exhaust if he's still up for doing it.  Do we have a choice of what we want the can to look like??  As for carbon, aluminum, titanium rainbowed look, etc....  Throw us some ideas!

I kinda like the look of the exhaust on my 07, but always open to something better. How loud is the reworked exhaust over the stock can?  Is the carbon fiber look real, I guess it would have to be, vinyl adhesive would melt off.

It's loud enough to be quite noticeable...but not really obnoxious.  All the ones I've done have tuned out pretty decent.

No choice on what I wrap the can with...sometimes it's carbon...sometimes it's aluminum...sometimes it's stainless...it depends ono what I can get that's the right size.
