ok so this sv650 fairly new if not this year parked next to me at work today, and i looked at his tail and mine and liked his way better, I looked at the frames of them and they looked pretty close enough as far as not taking anything off to check goes. I was checking if it was possible to get a sv650's tail on mine? or would it be to hard to make? I liked the lower fender and vertical led lights under the seat, so if there is a better fit that's what I am looking for. thanks

The lights under the seat are part of the undertail  :thumb: Not factory  :thumb:

I know that. that is why I want the sv650's undertail, I was asking if it was an easy thing? they looked like the same frame and mounts from looking at it. I could be wrong though.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

I honestly don't know I found the bike on a google image search..... I searched as "custom gs500"

Thats cool, I was tossing around the idea of painting mine satin black with gold rims, I had pretty well settled on the satin black but was unsure about the rims. After seeing that pic I think I will go with the gold wheels.

I think your missing the point here.  I want those led strips on my gs500f not go out and get another bike.

ps people are getting a little of topic here lol

Mk1inCali

He's not missing the point.  He's saying that you don't need to go out and get an undertail, simply figure out how to get the 03+ tail mounted to your GS.

Problem areas:

-Mounting the passenger seat.  It's most likely not the same mounting bracketry/support setup.  This will require custom fabrication (welding) to support and make the thing useful.

-Angle of the tail/subframe.  The SV's is much steeper, so the seats' surface will be off and might not show the LEDs like you are hoping.

On Buells it has nothing to do with looks.  I'm curious as to how it would impact the cornering clearance as the bike wasn't designed with mass centralization in mind.

I like it.  Not just buell anymore though, you gotta add the versys and 650r.  They both run underbody exhaust now.

yeah that's true, damn well I might take that on one day then. until then I will just get the undertail kit from the uk i had in mind. maybe even steal those leds from something like the junk yard and fabricate them into that tail
