ok, i was just thinking with my massive brain, and i was wondering if anyone else was thinking the samething i was.
since the gs500 was put back into production and alot more peope should be ownig them, do u think that yosh and other such exhaust companies will be makeing the exhaust for the gs500 again? so whatcha think? huh huh?
there is no place like home, when your on the opposite coast!!

I think yosh and others may start producing more product for the GS based on the new styling. It appears more SUper SPort or whatever, compraed with the naked style of yor. Thast my opinion. New styling=more sporty appearance=more sales=more demand for sport accesories, even though the GS has been on the market for 14 years now.

Maybe someone can convince Dale Walker to make that high mount slip on system.  Who here was talking to him a few momths ago?  You should contact him again.  All he needs is a bike to take a few measurements so he can bend the pipe and I'm sure he can use a can he already is using for the ex500 or other small motor.

If he decides to make one I'm sure a GS related site will feature it.

I had talked to him about that. I also met him a couple months back and sat down to talk about this with him. Seems he was swamped with current projects and was in the midst of putting together a whole catalog's worth of aftermarket for the new 03 sv650 and sv1000 since everything [relating to his current catalog of parts] had changed. He sympathized but didn't seem interested in what is essentially a small market. If he did develop a slip on it would cost at least as much as a yosh full system, or so he said.

We're lucky that way though. Most full systems start at $500 and go up. My sv650 buddy paid $800-$900 for his yosh full system. We may not have many choices but we can get them for under $300, even when yosh was new and available. The boys in the UK pay what most others here pay for a full system. A remus exhaust in the UK costs US$700 (I checked).

I'd like to think that the new fairing will increase demand for the GS. I have my doubts given the popularity of the SV (although it isnt fully faired) and american's propensity toward liters as first bikes.

Think about the type of people that generally own a GS vs. those that get SV's or other 'non-beginner' bikes. Most of us are either a)frugal, b)new to motorcycling and will be stepping up soon, c)sensible and dont need added HP or lots of mods. Not everyone falls into this category but generally speaking I believe this. If we werent this way we'd have bought something different. Am I wrong?

OK Pablo, have you actually counted how many different mods there are for this bike?  I mean even to add horsepower, Some have talked about adding a gixxer head to there bike.  Others have looked at the turbo bike seen in the members area(110 hp on a GS, who would have thought).  So I do think that most people here are sensible, but they are still looking at how to add more Power to the bike.  Just my two cents.
