Me and a buddy have decided to head out HWY84 to Alice's at skyline, up to Loma Mar via pescadero road to the coast.

Then up to San GRegorio, back over 84 to skyline, then down through big basin and out on hwy9.

Who's comin?

here's the route.

I'm down.  El Camino Real (82) is not that exciting or fast, but I live along the route so we could stop at my place for a break, if anyone wants.  I'd say taking 280 is probably more fun, or even using Hwy 1 as the connector.  Stop on the beach perhaps?  Coming back up a road like Bonny Doon would be fun....

I now live in Florida. I am also in a state of jealousy. Neither one is fun.

Enjoy the awesome ride and views. I ache for highway 1 everyday. Ride (safe) like you won't see tomorrow and soak it in. If you ever make it up to Fort Bragg check out the Headlands Coffee House http://www.google.com/maps?num=50&hl=en&safe=off&q=Headlands+Coffeehouse&fb=1&cid=0,0,13929161583779820182&near=Fort+Bragg,+CA&cd=1&ie=UTF8&ll=39.445813,-123.805468&spn=0.004051,0.007896&t=h&z=17&iwloc=A&om=1 and enjoy the music.

Don't miss the sunset on Glass Beach (the locals will point you to it) either, it's cool man.

Enjoy the rides.  :thumb:

Oh I know el camino isnt fun. Its just that my pal lives on el camino and shoreline. So the map I made was for his benefit. I'll be staying on his couch that friday night, and thats just the most direct route to the good roads.

I lived down there until I was 21, but I've never heard of bonny doon. Where is that?

Yup!  There's no Skyline on that route, but I don't think it's a bad thing.  Also, the later start means we might be able to convince a few people from up in SF, East bay, etc. to come for the ride.

Anyway, sounds good to me.  Also, I live at El Camino and 85, a few blocks down from your buddy.

Two things...first...to the fella who asked why that day....I decided to ride that day because my wife is out of town that day. So I have a free moment.

Second, we can either have breakfast and head out, or punctuate the ride with a bit of lunch someplace along the way--mebbe along the coast somewhere.

There's a great little place to eat on the left of Cabrillo Hwy right next to the gas station just past Gazo's Creek.

I don't know if I'll be able to go, I forgot to check with the wife if we already have plans that day.  I will try to remember to ask her tonight.

I confirmed that I can't go, sorry.

Sorry, I was mean.  I know that what you really have to do is paint your '02 a better color, like, say, dark blue from an '01.  But you should be ready by next weekend.
