I was just wondering if you guys have any ideas on how to delay the cracking of tires.  I have put a few thousand miles on my tires and they are wearing fine, but are starting to crack.  How can I prevent this?

A few thousand miles in how many years?  Tires crack due to age more than mileage.  Check the date codes on your tires and see when they were manufactured.  Some (unscrupulous) shops sell tires that already quite old as new tires, and seeing cracking is a prime sign of that scam.

They were new when I bought them a year ago.  It could be the flucuations in temp this time of year in Wisconsin.

3 years is about it.  Sunlight deteriorates tires faster.

You can find stuff in the automotive dept to treat sidewalls that prevents cracking, and I think it works primarily by blocking UV. But the key word is 'prevents' - once the damage is done it's too late.  Plus, you wouldn't want to get any of that slick stuff on the tread.

But if you already have cracking, better get new tires PRONTO.  It's not worth risking having a blowout at speed.  When I bought my GS500 this spring it had lots of small cracks in the tires and I didn't even ride it, much as I desperately wanted to, until I put new tires on it.
