Yeah, my taste in music is a bit older :cookoo:  Damn cat is crazy!!!  Left him home while I took my dog up to the mountains to hike, and he detroyed everything he could get too

The only heavy metal I really like is older shaZam!, too (Metallica, AC/DC ).  Except Dope, and I only listen to heavy metal when I'm at the gym :dunno_white:  get's ya a llittle more pumped up than 'margaritaville'

I started off listening to Metallica, AC/DC,Korn and crap like that but moved onto heavier and darker music. :thumb: My dog used to do the same thing, But to add she bit everyone who came to our house and walked in the backyard.

The cat isn't 'biting' people, but he will nibble on ya because he's teething :icon_confused:

All I have to say is, nothing beats these lyrics:

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
'this could be heaven or this could be hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the hotel california
Any time of year, you can find it here

Her mind is tiffany-twisted, she got the mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the captain,
'please bring me my wine'
He said, 'we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine'
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the hotel california
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said 'we are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
The stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'relax,' said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.

I'm really liking this song right now:
I remember Richard Nixon back in '74
And the final scene at the White House door
And the staff lined up to say good-bye
Tiny tear in his shifty little eye
He said nobody knows me
Nobody understands
These little people were good to me
Oh I'm gonna shake some hands

CHORUS:
Somebody line 'em up
Line 'em all up
Line 'em up
Line 'em all up
Line 'em up
Line 'em all up
Line 'em up
Line 'em all up

At that time my heart was all broke
I looked like ashes and smelled like smoke
And I turned away from my loving kind
Try to leave my body and live in my mind
But it's much too much emotion
To hold it in your hand
They've got waves out on the ocean
They're gonna wear away the land

Oh I've seen corn in Kansas
And I've seen picket fences
And certain cowboy dances
I've gone lining up for shows
I've been safely placed in rows
Sure I know how it goes

Another day goes by
Little time machine
I'm breaking my brain
Over what it might mean
Just to claim the time
And to turn away
To make today today

Who waits for you
Lonely tired old toad
It's your life laid out before you
Like the broken white line down the center of the doggone road

- Chorus -

Yeah, big moon landing
People all standing up
Smiles for the loved ones
They go walking on down the aisles
Each re-engages stepping into the sun
I watch them turn like pages
One by one by one

- Chorus -

Jughead

I don't know why but every time I hear Korn I think they are the New Kids on the Block of the Metal World.   Sorry Just Kan't Kut Korn.

Staying in the 'obscure bands' portion of the thread:

Anyone here familiar with the Jack Rubies (yes, it's a reference to the Dallas night club owner who shot Lee Harvey)?  They are a great British "jangle-pop" band from the late 80's.  They only cut two albums, but they were great.  I still listen to them often.

2 C8H18 + 25 O2 = 16 CO2 + 18 H2O + :)
the bikeography is down for a bit
what IS a Hokie?

jake42

I vaguely remember the Jack Rubies. I think my highschool girlfriend had their cassette (yes tapes).  Where they along the lines of TSOL and Camper Van Beethoven?
"God is a big guy who drives a monster truck and lives in the sky". Isaac age 3.  My boy is a philosophical genius.

JakeD-getting your nipple pierced is not crazy. Killing a drifter to get an errection? Now that's crazy!

vtlion

Think TSOL and Beethoven, but remove the balls (less punk influence, more pop).  Still a great sound though.

I think "Book of Love" was the one song that they actually cut a video for.

Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.
