Hello all :)

Was on another trackday, on monday, and finally got some good pics of me on my bike.
I set a best time of 1,16,1, arounbd a track where superbikes on slicks struggle to do 1.04's, it's not so bad I rekon.

Well here are a few, any criticism is welcome

Niiiice. Bike looks good in motion. How fast you get up to on the straits?

Looks like you got some new myspace pics.  :icon_razz:

Good form!  You look good out there!
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Hey, that's my bike too (black and red).  So I can push it over that far? =-) lol.  Awesome.  I'm new, still learning about this leaning way over stuff.

Dan
Yeah, with propper tires you can :p
I use Pilot Powers front and rear 120 front and 150 rear, awsome tires, and trust me you can cary more corner speed then any other on the track, I overtook R6's and CBR1000RR's in the hairpin :lol

According to my Veypor speedo, it logged a fastest speed of 161 km/h.
Just to compare, I was there with a bloke on a SV1000, and he was hitting 205 km/h, and I was still 1 second a lap faster than him :lol

AWESOME pics! I hope to eventually get to the point where I can take my GS out to a track. Either way, your pictures look great! Is there any way to remove the watermark from Soborg or w/e so maybe we can use it as a background? Thanks!

ohgood

Looks like you're quite comfortable. Would you mind listing your gear's makers ?

I noticed you are riding with no clutch nor brake contact. Is this just for on the track ?

I only ask because I have the habit of always two fingering the clutch and brake. It seems more comfortable, and in the few E-stops I've needed to make, my hands and feet were already in place. Maybe it shaves 1/10th of a second off the application of brakes.

Now I also wonder how many other folks drape over the controls as opposed to only gripping the bars ?

Very nice shots you got there. Whoever was snapping did a good job. I'd like to know what they were shooting with. If _I_ had shots that nice two or three would be on the wall.

Enjoy the fun !

Nice pics....but....

You need to move off the seat and hang off the bike more. In the 2nd pic, the bike is leaning too far with you still sitting up high. Your head should be looking through where the mirrors normally are.

It is great to compair times with the bigger bikes and see that a lot are not that much faster. All the fun is in the turns, any idiot can go fast in a straight line.
Common sense in not very common.

now thats what i need to learn how to do  :thumb:

Yeah I know mate, but that was coming out of a corner and going onto the straight, that's why I was sitting up so much, normally I hang off alot more, but you do have a point, I was practicing that quite alot  :)

But your right none the less mate I need to hang off more than I do, I'm alsways open for constructive criticism :D

Those are SV650 clip-ons, it has an SV650 front end, which also explains the dual front discs :p ;)

If those are indeed SV-650 clip ons and front end, how easy was it to do the swap? I'm thinking about doing a front end swap and I was under the impression that only the Katana was swappable. What year was the front end off of if so? I need info!!! =P Anyway, awesome pics!

Well it wasn't easy, but most of the parts fit straight over, although you will need to press the GS "steering stem" (I think it's called) into the SV tripple trees.

I did the swap with a mate of mine and we used his 1999 SV650 front end, but we had to weld something onto the steering stem because something didn't quite fit (it's over a year ago since we did it, so I don't really remember the details  )

Don't believe me then here are more pics :p
