is there a difference between katana 98+ more precise 2006 shock from the 600 and 750 except from the reservoir thing!

-is there any advantage to have a reservoir??

-will it have any difference in the lean of the side stand, and will the center stand still be fonctionnal?

-I'm not very talll 5"4, I am able to flatfoot if I keep my right feet on the pegs! but tipsy toes is I touch both sides! will I have any problem with this mod with my height?

I'm 5'3, with a 28" inseam.. I have sonic springs up front and a katana shock in the rear, and I have no problems. As for the reservoir, I think most people opt to have the shock without the reservoir due to the difficulty of finding a place to mount it.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

If it has the remote mount resvior you'll need to find a place to mount it.If the res is made to the top of the shock just bolt it in and check for clearance. There is about a half to 3/4 inch higher. There is a Kat shock that has a longer clevis that will raise the rear over an inch.Read more about it here http://pantablo500.tripod.com/id12.html

I thought I read on here that the 750 shock with resevoir wouldn't fit the GS because of the width of the spring on one end or something like that.

It will with a little filing.

No problem with the saddle height but on my bike (1993 500E) the center stand is now useless due to the increased shock height.  No problem noted with the side stand.  As other posters have stated, mounting the reservoir is also a problem if you want to use the stock plastic side panels.  If anyone has fixes for these two issues I'd love to hear them.  Handling is good, especially with Progessive springs and good fork oil up front.

with my kat shock and 140/80 tire, the rear is up about an inch or so from stock.  was concerned about the lean angle of the side stand from what I read, but a few years later it's never been a prob.  putting the bike on the center stand leaves it less stable then stock and the rear tire is touching the ground, but it ain't that bad.  just got to be mindful that it can't take a hard lateral push, but otherwise, I still use it for different situations in the garage if I need to.  last winter, I had it on the center stand, which was on a 2x4 (or sometimes 2x6) with screw hooks in the wood and the bike ratchet strapped snug.  it had the rear off the ground and laterally, wasn't going anywhere.

center stand is still useable but the rear tire touches the ground. You can get some steel from home depot and make lowering links. If you like how it is now just make the links an inch longer than the stock links.Just drill the holes and round the corners at each end.
