yea...i have to agree with suzuk-e   that doesnt sound right.    you should be able to undo those suckers without any stress.  Unless you have snapped it off inside the casing then it would  be a problem.

well the nuts are just turning and turning and turning some more.  It doesn't look like they're coming out of the casing either.

Still no go?

Still just turning and turning? Has made any progress at all?

tripleb

I'm going to try some more today and I'll let you know if I make any progress.  Thanks for the help guys.

Just turning does not seem right.
I woud dab it with a magic marker on one side so you
can see it better if it is turning.

I tried again for about 30 minutes this morning and the nuts are just turning so I'm going to have to take it in.  I think the nuts and bolts are both turning when I am unscrewing them so I don't know what else to do.  The guy at the dealership said it should be about 30 minutes worth of work to remove and replace them so it would only be $35.  Hopefully, it won't take longer than that.

Sorry to bump a dead topic, but I found out that I might be able to use a bolt extractor that is attached to a power drill to remove the bolts.  Has anyone ever done this before?  I don't want to mess it up and have to scrap my bike.

Most people who try to use bolt extractors, unless they have lots of experience, just screw it up. If it's come to that point, take it to a pro. My $.02

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.
