Hey yall, Anyone know what the stock wheel width is on a 2001 GSXR 1000? and What the widest tire you can put on it is?  I cant seem to find it searching.

The size should be cast in the wheel spoke.It should be 17 x 5.5 and you could probably squeeze a 200-50-17 in on there.Factory is 180-60-17.If I'm wrong let me know.

That sounds about right,  I dont know if I want to use the wheel for the rear or not, might, make my own swing arm for the rear and put an automotive piece in but with chain drive im worried about the rear Sproket mounting arena and using a motorcycle wheel seems to be the best route. 

Anyone ever fabracated a Single side swing arm? How thick should I make it? Would using say a corvette front Spindle as the wheel mount point be sturdy enough?

i believe mak made one? not sure tho, how are your welding/fab skills?

I was certified Master welder last year, Mig arc and tig.  Fab is ok, but ive got a friend whos got awesome skills so im sure ill use him a bit.   should be fun
