Took the wife to new orleans last weekend for our 1 year anniversary, drank lotsa booze.

Pat O'briens bartenders in the courtyard make a 7 layer shot and you can taste all the different flavors as it goes down, it was excellent.

You have to keep it kinda down low because its so hard to layer that many alchohols in a shot it takes about 10 minutes to get them made.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

Having my 28th party tonight, I'm going to teach my liver whos boss.

I'll help you revive this zombie.  :D

I'm partial to craft/microbrew beer. Basically anything that's not SAB-Miller-Coors. The darker the better. Craft cider and mead are also high on the list.

With regard to liquor, I'm partial to the homemade Kahlua our friend makes. Occasionally, some whiskey or rum if the mood catches me right. But I'm more into sipping than shooting anymore, so quality matters.

Vodka right out of the bottle. Sometime with a warm Natural Ice on the side.
Moonshine is good too.
Mezcal if I need to forget something.
Why are you looking here?

Liquor is my job.  So...

It's a little low right now, I normally maintain more tequilas and rums and one or two vodkas, but with independence day...

Got some good beers in the fridge, too.  Partial to dark, and partial to Founder's out of Michigan.

Top-bottom, left-right:
Teton Moonshine (Huckleberry flavor)
Maker's Mark 46
Maker's Mark Private Select
Weller 12yr old Wheated Bourbon
Woodford Reserve
Blade&Bow
BarenJager Honey & Bourbon
Slow&Low Rock and Rye
Quincy Street "Prairie Sunshine" (distilled honey, basically hard liquor'd Meade)
Ardbeg AuriVerdes edition
Ardbeg 10yr
Yamazaki 12yr Japanese single malt whisky
The Balvenie 14yr Caribbean Cask
Johnnie Walker Gold-Label
Jack Daniel's Master-Distiller Ed. #1 (keeping for collectable)
Jack Daniel's Sinatra Select (I have 2, one for drink and one for collect).
Jack Daniel's Single-Barrel "Barrel Proof"
Jack Daniel's Single-Barrel Rye
Sazerac Rye
Angel's Envy rum-finished Rye
Templeton Rye 4yr
Tomatin 12yr
Paddy Irish Honey
Paddy Irish
Plantation Dark rum
Kilo-Kai Curacao spiced rum
Leblon Cachaca
and Avion Silver.

Staples in my house that got wiped out last weekend are Sam Houston American Straight Whiskey, Don Julio Anejo, Ketel One, and Aylesbury Duck rye vodka.  People brought over crap like Bacardi and Absolut and such, I didn't bother including them in the picture.
Also recently gave away my bottles of Pappy-Van-Winkle 10yr, Maracame Anejo, and Maker's Cask-Strength.  Good gifts (one great gift) to good people (one great person).

What a collection! And...you gave away a bottle of Pappy?! Can we be (great) friends?

I LOVE bourbon. As far as spirits are concerned, that's pretty much all I'm guaranteed to have on hand at any given time. I'm lucky to live only a couple hours north of the heart of bourbon country - I've visited the Maker's Mark distillery last year, and plan to head back down that way to tour some of the others in the coming years.

I recently bought a cabinet at a local antique mall that I've repurposed into a bar cabinet...now it's time to fill it up. Right now there's a bottle of 1792 and a bottle of Maker's Mark in there, along with a bottle of Jameson Caskmates, Captain Morgan, and Bacardi rum. I also enjoy a good craft beer, particularly pale ales. Cincinnati has a relatively new brewery called Rhinegeist that has some phenomenal ales. They just had their three year anniversary, and are expanding pretty rapidly - if you like beer, keep an eye out for their brews.

Yeah, I've got some KBS I'm waiting to drink as well.  Founders has a coffee brown ale called Sumatra Mountain thats pretty awesome.  Not nearly as heavy, more drinkable on the whole.

Also have a few limited release Dragon's Milks.

I was impressed with Jameson's Caskmate.  You can actually taste the Guinness on it.
New Holland has a Beer Barrel Bourbon which is aged in Dragon's Milk but it was a total miss if you ask me.  Needs water to bring out any beer flavor, and at that point you've thinned out the whiskey too much.

Anyone on Untappd? It's a pretty cool app for tracking what brews you've tried, and especially for finding good local beers/bars while traveling.

yamahonkawazuki makes a lot more sense now that I know he drinks. I love you my namesake, king of shitposts.

The Buddha

And now you guys know why I dont make sense most of the time. LOL. Naaaa, that's all me, only time I am coherent is when I'm hammered.
BTW I find that between drinks 1 and 2 I am the most productive when working on small and delicate crap, like amps. I'd never cut one of those open and leave it splayed on my truck's tailgate and power it on to test when I am 100% sober. Past drink 2 I am useless, I'd power it on, and fry something. Between 1 and 2 - I have the courage to do it, and not have lost the hands yet, I guess.

Anyway let this thread live on, thanks Zombie thread fans.

Cool.

Zombie threads ftw!! Hehe  :embarrassed:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds some productive/constructive benefits to drinking. I'm really really ocd/clean/organized all the time but sometimes (like normal people) I find it hard to get up the energy/motivation to do a project.

If I have a beer or 5, I get kinda like super focused and rip though a project... and a lot of times I even have tons of energy left over to tackle another smaller project or two. It's crazy !!

Malfruen

I'll pretty much try anything. Since I'm an Aussie, beer is a given. Tooheys New is the go to drink, Great Northern if I'm at the local bar and the shits on Happy Hour.

As far as spirits are concerned, anything goes. I don't mind some scotch, Glenfiddich  is a go to since it's cheapish and it's a pretty good drop, Johnny Walker if I'm mixing. Rum makes me punchy, so I usually steer clear of it, but Bundaberg Rum is always delicious when I wanna get into a fight with a stranger at 3 in the morning. And some Jack Daniels never goes astray either.

As far as productivity goes, I start drinking, I couldn't be stuffed doing shaZam!. I wind down when I booze up, I ain't taking on a new project when I'm getting hammered.
