Tell me your thoughts...There is a blue one in my lot which I see daily....It is growing on my VERY quickly!!!!  :thumb: :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:

I love em.  great lines, and respectable power.  A local shop here had  one i almost bought, but it turned out to be stolen  from TN

frankieG

at under 400 lbs it is light enough but they do not mention the HP just torque.  the exhaust and tail look a little too buellish for my taste.   overall though i like it...but won't be buying one

I don't really see it in the tail, but definitely the exhaust.........nice bike if you find a deal on one.

If you read the supporting reviews, the power is 61 HP at about 9000.  Better than our bikes, but for the price, I would expect it to be.  :thumb:
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

I'm a fan- nice looking lines, decent power and really unique.  :thumb:

There is a red one I drive past on my way to work everyday.  If you haven't seen a red one yet, check one out before you buy a blue one.  They look amazing.

Kind of blah looking. The tank and fairings do not share the same lines. The rearsets bracket looks like something from a cheesy B-scifi movie. Specs are decent. Nothing I would run out to buy.
Common sense in not very common.

+1 to that, I'd go an EFI or Carb SV650 before one of those, for sure.

Yes SV650 is way better IMO ,frame is beefier and it's V-twin (or L-twin)  :icon_mrgreen:

Isn't the 650R EFI? If not what's the diff?

spc

Yup it's an EFI parallel twin

I meant to imply that I'd go with either the EFI SV650 or the carb SV650 (as they changed the looks of the bike quite a bit from '02 to '03 (frame, tank, bodywork, seat.  Basically completely different appearance-wise.  Sorry for the confusion.

And the difference is that a L-twin is going to have more torque.  And the SV can be a better track weapon than the 650R someday.
Endurance rance, anyone?

What makes the SV a better track bike?

The SV has proven itself as a inexpensive, and dependable track weapon when in the right hands, and it has HUGE parts availability.

I've only done 2 trackdays so far, and I from what I saw the '03-'05 R6 and the SV650 '99-'07 were the two most common bikes out there with me.

I believe they have more like low 70's in horsepower. I love them. This bike is the reason I almost sold my GS. Jay Leno endorses them as well.

Thats gotta make you love 'em.
