05 engine in a 91?

I know generally things are the same but my question focuses on the wiring compatability.

the black connector on the motor from right side has 3 wires, 91  side has 4, the difference being an additional brown wire.

the alternator wires on chassis side hook with bullet type connections 05 motor is on a harness. what order can thede be hooked together since the wires don't have identifying marks?

this engine has additional wire coming from left side with blue and red wires hooked to a white harness. this also has the single black wire with black harness that is compatible with 91 chassis.

so this is what I know. what do I have to do and how do I do it to try to make this work, or will it?

The 04+ signal generators & rotors are different. 2 pick-ups on the 89-02 and 1 on the 04+.

You will either have to use the signal generator & rotor from a pre-04 with the 05....

       or

use the 05 signal generator & rotor along with a 04+ ignition module and whatever wire harness connectors required.

As for the stator....the 3 connections do not matter, they are all the same.

No idea about the blue & red wires.

Conversions like this have been brought up several times before.
Common sense in not very common.

I will just switch out the signal generator, that won't be bad. So thanks

I will search a bit.

Looks like I may be ok.

Only problem is the crappy seller didn't include a oil cooler, and I am going to have to locate another one.

Oh yeah...you will need to address the tach as well since the 04+ have an electric tach. Not sure if their exhaust cam still have the worm gear to be able to add the drive or if the hole is still in the head for the drive. I know the 04 head is plugged.

haha,

I was noticing there was no compatibility there too. The motor actually still has the spots for the old style tach, but no entrance hole, and I don't know if the internals support it too.

If you are using the 05 carbs, they have a TPS, Throttle Position Sensor, though the wiring of the 91 will not use it.

If you using pre-04 carbs, you won't be looking for a TPS connector.
