What GS parts are interchangeable with other Suzuki's?

Specifically the engine, what all is interchangable with similar bikes like the Katana and Bandit?

Starter, clutch, stator, flywheel, tranny parts, oil pump? These all seem like they could be "standard issue" Suzuki stuff. Any similarities? Any other parts on the engine this bike shares with other Suzuki's?

Very little if any of the engine will be a direct swap with any I4 engine, completely different design. The starter may be the only part. The GS500 is basically a bored GS450, so the parts between the 2 are interchangeable. There are some parts that are swappable with some modification.
Common sense in not very common.

Oh yeah... the GS valve cover is the same as the GR650.

A GSXR head fits, which you can combine with GSXR pistons and sleeves to make a GS555 or something like that.  You have to cut off the extra two cylinders of the GSXR head.   I forgot who did it, and can't find the link.  It's not a mod for the faint of heart, or faint of butt.

I could make a large list of parts that could be converted.... like as mentioned the Gix head (which I am working on) with FJ1200 pistons in GR650 cylinders (perfect fit), GS 6-speed tranny in the GR (removing a 5-speed). There are some other simple swaps that I will not mention until I obtain enough for myself. I sorta screwed myself when I revealed the Kat rear wheel swap before I got an extra or 2.

Bob Broussard and Cedric are the only 2 that I know of that have done the 4-valve head conversion.
