Just bought a wrecked 05 500F, well the bike needs fork tubes and according to my dealer the F model tubes have a different part # than older E models tubes do, the F model tubes are also an additional $80.00 each.  I find it difficult to believe that these bikes have different forks but as soon as I buy older fork tubes for less money I will find out that they won't work.  Anybody know if there is any difference in the E forks and the F forks?  Thanks

i did the same thing and used 89 tubes and tiple on my f....works fine after 2500 miles of use

They should work just fine, but some1 on here mentioned that the newer models may have stiffer springs.

Thanks for the info everyone, I assume that you used 89 model tubes with your f model lower fork leg.  I was hoping someone here had combined the two like that, that helps me a lot.  Thanks!  Oh yeah, If the stock f model springs are too soft I will post them for sale.

i used the 89 tubes and he whole kit and cabutle

if we are talking about the 04 springs.... let me say they are crap. I haven't taken them out neither checked how they look like or how thick they are, but I feel they are crap! I'm only 155 pounds and it's very easy to bottom the front end. Next season I'll get the progressive springs (I thought about racetech but they are pricey and I do not race)
Can someone tell me what is the part number for the progressive springs for 04 model?
I'm willing to sell my stock 04 as soon as I upgrade to progressive.

Changing the oil in the forks also helps. I did it and they're still soft, but at least they don't bottom out any more
