Hey is anyone in the New York City/ New Jersey area?  I'm located in Staten Island, NY.

kml.krk

hello. I am located in NY. queens-maspeth to be exact - it is not far away from Staten Island.
if you are still here (message board) let me know, hopefully we could meet and ride together if not this season maybe next one. I'll be very glad cause so far I've been riding alone and it's kinda boring.
Let me know what you think
cheers

What's up this is my first post. I've been reading the site and riding for a few months now, but definitely still a newbie. I'm in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, kept my bike in Eastern LI all summer, and ready to try riding around here. How're the roads in Queens and Nassau County? I hear there's good riding in Westchester, too - twisty roads. If you're alright with having a beginning rider join, let me know.

so there is two of us.. newbies  I have done 600 miles on the bike so far in one year :)  I'm quite busy tho.... work and college...

but I do know that westchester county is NICE!! been there few times but in a cage(car). Didn't have my bike with me unfortunatelly.

williamsburg... that sounds CLOSE :) I go down metropolitan ave for 5-7 minutes and I'm there!

it would be great to meet and ride around. Sunday?? what you think?? if you have nothing else to do just post back here and we can meet.

oh... and Queens is same as brooklyn. to much traffic, too many cagers - overall nothing special - it's NYC so what can we expect  :dunno_white:

all right. let me know what you think. I'd like to ride lil' bit more before the summer ends...

I'm in Jersey, about 45 minutes from NYC. I just got my GS on Sunday. Its a 99 with 7000 miles on it, has a muzzy slip on, jet kit, and I'll be doing some stuff to it eventually. I dunno if I'll get insurance for this season, probably for the spring. Definitely going to be looking for people to ride with.

Jersey sound good!! and I think SAFER than NYC! way too many crazy cagers here... ;/ just let us know when you have your insurance.
If you cannot do it this season we'll do it next one. I'm into it a lot!!
I have to admit that even though I have my bike second season I'm still NOOB!! I've put 600 miles on a bike in 2 seasons! SHAME ON ME but the reason is I've got nobody to ride with and I'm lil' bit afraid to ride alone - you know in case something happens to the bike... I'm not sure if I could fix it on my own. Besides the fear (of unknown) I'm quite busy - work and college so I only have weekends to ride, if I don't have to study...

NH - it sounds beautifull :) but kinda far away for a noob  ;) , but if anyone else join me we could go together and visit you in NH or even better - in a halfway between NY and NH. I've got GPS so directions is not a problem!!

I can't wait to go for a longer ride. My longest one was 50 miles. Whole trip on a highway - it sucks!! Didn't like it. BORING. I want some backroads, twisties to gain some skills and experience.

Dude... I can't wait to feel the pleasure and real joy of motorcycling...  ;)

I was feeling unsure at first because of worries of riding around NYC. CA definitely has better motorcycling conditions and roads, but that doesn't mean we aren't GS fans. I think the east coast is still dope as hell. I sure am tired of riding in NYC - way too many wreckless pedestrians, bicycles, cars, trucks, and buses!

We should get a group of NY/NJ/CT folks together for a ride near you. I've been wanting to ride around Harriman State Park and Peekskill/Yorktown area, because I've heard the roads are real nice. I also think that's somewhere in the middle for all of us.

I've got cold-weather gear so I'm down to get together on a nice weekend this season, if there are any left! Otherwise we should definitely do this in the spring. Keep in mind that I'm a newbie and completely uninterested in stunting. If we all keep the ride easy I think we all can still have a great time. Absolute Rescue - PM me so that we all get out of this posturing phase and we can coordinate something with kml.krk and others to meet near Orange County.

All NY / NJ / CT / PA riders - For anybody interested in meeting in southern NY, southwestern CT, eastern PA, or northern NJ, keep replying to this thread and we'll put something together next season.
