That is the only Honda I have heard of lasting beyond 80k.

Original floormats.... must look like crap by now.
No scratches.... bet they are plenty of paint chips unless it has been repainted.
Common sense in not very common.

Are you kidding?? A good amount of Hondas I've seen on CL are at 120K +  :cookoo:

The 82 Honda Accord I had fell apart at 78k. 0 compression in two cylinders and the best of the other two was 40%. Lost 5th and reverse on the way to the dealer. I would never buy a 4 cylinder to be used on the highway. I know of plenty of other people who have had similar experiences.

Wow...  I am very surprised to hear you say that. All the Honda's that I have owned had beyond 100K and numerous friends still have accords with 200K+

Right now my nephew has a 94 Accord w/ about 212K and its all original except tires and basic maint.   :thumb:

Back in 82 Honda was a little different

That was 25 years ago.  The domestics sucked pretty bad back then too.

I sold my '87 Z24 with over 275,000 miles.

But overall there has not been any manufacturer that has impressed me, including my current Toyota Tacoma. My 80 Mazda GLC was probably the best until it was totalled when I was rear ended... 2 years later I saw it again back on the road, above 180k when totalled.

that is an insane amount of miles. for any car. as far as honda's go, i've owned 2. A 1987 accord that had around 230k on it when i sold it. the only reason i sold it was because a motor-mount broke and the ac compressor went out. i owned a 1993 civic. it had around 250k on it when i had to take it back to the dealership because i was moving out of state. with good care and regular maintenance i'd have to say honda makes the most reliable and longest running vehicles on the road today. but that's just my opinion.
finally a homeowner!

aye hondas can go and go and go !, but impractical for me. ( size wise) i had an 86 accord which ( when i got rid of it) had 512,372 miles, smoked a wee bit when started, but damn ran like no tomorrow :o

yea over here the body is likely to rust out completely before the engine ever dies. We had a 91 honda civic with over 300k, ran fine, lots of pep but the body seemed to fall apart all together in the last year or two. Sold the car to some kids in 2004 and picked up a 90 corolla -- which is since sold too, I still see it on the road... and that car had over 250k.

If you remember to replace the timing belts every 100,000 miles, I Honda will run forever.  My brother put 200K on an '85 Civil hatchback.  That said, I've got 220,000 miles on my 1995 GMC Sierra.  Small block Chevy.  Yeah, baby.  I can still smoke my 285/17/16's.

I got 800,000 out of an '88 VW Fox.  Engine was still fine, but it did need lifter seals.  The body, however, was gone.  Gotta love salt.

My 328IS is at 298,000 at the moment.  I suspect it's good for around half a million miles between overhauls.  I start to worry about timing chains around 500,000 miles anyway.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

My old crx is now on 250k and its totally stock, no rebuild or anything.  Only things I replaced up to 175k were starter, clutch, plug wires, and air intake to make a couple extra ponies.
