My '00 GS has had an oil leak from the front of the clutch/right side crankcase cover for some time;

I would buy a new gasket, remove it, and replace the gasket. Same thing happened to mine, same area, the gasket appeared to have "shrunk" in that area. Fixed it with High Temp RTV since I had work the next day.
