Alrighty its time to register my 2005 GS500 again. I'm 26 and have a full no claim bonus.

NSW Rego: $97

NRMA Compulsory Third Party Personal Injury Insurance: $502.08

Allianz Compulsory Third Party Personal Injury Insurance: $407.00

Both insurances offer some basic level of "Rider at Fault Cover" as well.

Both of these insurances include the new levy to cover Children Involved in Accidents.

Once I add full comprehensive insurance (due in 3 months time) it will cost me over $1000!!!!

I thought bikes were meant to be cheap

NSW residents can use the RTA's GreenSlip calculator to find the best price Greenslips.

Try western QBE. When I did my rego November I paid $400 total. The killer is the green slip.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I have the advantage of being an old fart (being over 30 )
The more I learn about women, the more I love my bike.

I paid for CTP/Rego back in July. $96 for rego (or there abouts), and $624 for CTP (looks like $675 next time round)  Under 25 in Sydney metro is the killer  :2guns: They need to bring in single seat rego/ctp like they do in Qld.
[ Light Blue GS500 K1 ][60,000km (and climbing), a gazillion litres of oil, and more scratches than you can poke a road at. ]

Holy cow!

Oh and QBE Quoted me $622

Get a fake ID ... heheh

Sorry to laugh - I lived the life of excess once and drove around a Toyota Surf - would cost me about $1500 to register and $3200 comp insurance under 25, and I saved about $500/year after that.  True I'm now over 30, but the GS seems a deadset bargain to me!

Be patient young ones, and stay upright so you CAN enjoy that cheap(er) insurance.
Remember: shiny side up.

Old man

Mine comes up in Nov,

$340.85 CTP,(GIO this is the cheapest so far.) 60% No Claims, Rating 1 for life.

$350.95, (Comprehensive ins with Swann, This was last years amount, havnt had a new quote from them as yet)

$99.00 Rego (im also over 40)

Can anyone go cheaper in NSW (Australias Taxation State!)

Monday I have Friday on my mind.....

I had a bloke tell me today in the SuperCheap Auto carpark about this new Motorbike insurer:

http://www.insuremyride.com.au

They seem to have good prices for comprehensive insurance and an online quote facility.

They don't do CTP Green Slips atm :(

bubba zanetti

My rego is due in November as well, my greenslip is $320 through QBE.

I am that 'bloke".  Good to talk with you.  Regarding insurances.  My CTP is with NRMA and cost $388.00.  They are not the cheapest.  However unlike most CTP's which only cover other peoples (third parties) personal injuries, the NRMA do offer some cover (limited) for the actual policy holders injuries as well.  My comprehensive cover with "Insure My Ride is $254.00 per year for my 2003 GS500.

Also if you run a car as well then try www.budgetdirect.com.au  I saved over $200.00 on comprehensive cover for my 2004 Astra.  It is now $370.00 per year.

LOL whats with all the November rego's thats the same as mine, mines due on the 5th Nov. I hope to have all my mods done before then or I'll be screwed for the snowy ride because I will need to do some fine tune riding before I go but I hope to have all the work done this weekend.
But my rego costs will be about the same as Old mans being well over 30 but not quite 40  :thumb:

Comp. Insurance was $197 on the GS & $443 on the SV (8000km per year limit for the SV)

My EH is only $115 for 1 year or $333 for three years. (Club rego).
Then there's the commodore...ohh & the trailer... stuff it...i'm moving to Perth.

Jeez!! I think I won't say too much in case the pollies here in the West take notice of what's happening over there.

Just paid mine for the 1000. Came to $210.60
License $53.00
Insurance $121.45
Stamp duty $13.35
Recording fee $10.65
GST $12.15

No such thing as solo rates here in WA either.

My car (a Suzuki GV of course) cost $415.95 to register and insure.

This seems about right as far as I'm concerned. A bike should be half that of a car.

There drawing up a petition re. the cost of rego. Will link it once it's up.

Seriously why do us New South Welshman get stung with so many state taxes, stamp duties, petrol excises and tolls!

When I get a green slip, why do I have to pay as much for my GS500F as my cuz does with his 1000cc ZX-10R!!!

Why do we pay the full car price to use toll ways?

Seriously they need to piss off state governments. Local and Federal is enough!!!
