I have an 500F with the stock flat black exhaust pipe. I need to touch up some stains on the pipe and a spot on the tip. Is there a particular spray that people are using, or touch up pen?

Don't worry about it.

About once a year I take my V&H system off, sandblast it, and re-paint it with high-temp barbeque paint available at most hardware stores.  Even then, the paint will eventually scale, discolor, and flake off due to the heat.

If you ride in the rain, the cylinders and pipes will discolor with roasted on road grime as well.

Good to see you off the Beginnerbikers board.   :thumb:
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

:laugh:LOL... I'm getting tired hearing about "Ninja 250's" and "get some gear". Plus this is way more informative.

I have used black grate/stove polish on my pipes before with excellent results, comes in a tube, looks like black toothpaste, just rub it on the pipe and it stains the metal black, it doesnt work on rough surfaces or flaking metal though.

Stainless steel downpipes are an investment if your going to ride all year.

Now there's a thought...  I hadn't considered stove black.

Very interesting. Color matches good (not spotty)?
