I did one side last night. Looks MUCH better. Doing the other side tonight. I'll have to see if theres still one on my swingarm and what it says. If it's mentioned in the MOM, it's coming off!

nazgulnarsil

the one on the swingarm lists a few pieces of useful info.

CndnMax

the one on the swingarm is in the OM. did u remove the black sticker?

kml.krk

I have both - one on the frame, one on the swingarm. the one on the swingarm says usefull info about tire pressure. and the one on the frame says something about emmisions and I was told it is required in NY state.
I don't care too much about them... so they are gonna stay there for now  ;)

Instead of removing the emission sticker (which may be required in some states), a black decal could be used to cover it up. Easily obtained from most any sign shop.
Common sense in not very common.

Sorry to thread jack! I know you were asking about other stickers the other day.
I like my bike like this.

Never removed black stickers. I think that's the VIN isn't it! As far as the emission stickker, never "was told" it was required in Ohio. I know a lot of police officers and they know NOTHING about that wive's tale. I might keep the one on the swingarm though. I never keep my manual in my trunk.

ABSOLUTNATI

Huh, that's pretty sweet. Not tacky, and has personality. Thought....Camoflauge would be badass!!!

GI_JO_NATHAN

Thanks! I've thought about the new Digital camo. It would have to be vinyl though, would be way too expensive to paint.

If you don't need or want the stickers on the bike but still want the info handy.. take them off and stick them on a piece of paper, cut the paper to the sticker size and put it in your wallet or something.

+1
Maybe tape it to the inner fender under the seat.
I think I might do this.

Uhhhhhhh... Have you ever tries to take one of thos stickers off? I took one sticker off last night. It ended up in 5467 pieces! Those stickers WILL NOT come off in one piece! Good idea though. If anyone can prove me wrong, I will be absolutly amazed.

ABSOLUTNATI

DIGI's would be badass, but regular camo would be more recognizable to the mainstream public.

I'll take some pics of the stickers off and on my garage frig. If one side starts ripping all over the place, go for the other side.. if you find the sweet spot it just peels right offf.

No No No... Not a refridgerator sticker.... the GS500F sticker! Trust me, I know how to peel off a sticker, especially on an appliance. I'm in that business. Two TOTALLY different things.

Pardon my vagueness.. I meant that I took the stickers off the bike and reapplied them on my frig in the garage. (In one piece)

NO WAY!!! I have got to see that! Although it may be true considering your bike is new and my stickers may have adhered more permenantly to the frame.

True, but I'll look silly in my ACU's riding to work on a woodland camo bike.

One thing that was weird is that the big decal on the left side of mi bike came of in 50 pieces and most of the glue was left for me to scrape off with a razor blade and GooGone, the other side came off in one pieces with all the glue, I could have put it on another bike if I wanted to.

The best way to remove stickers is to heat them with a hairdrier - then they peel straight off.  The glue residue will wipe off with some turps.
