Im still shopping around for boots and came across these.

Has anyone here tried them out? Seems like a sweet racing boot for 30 dollars more than the docs i was going to buy.

i bought those then returned them because Oxtar racing boots were on sale for the same price.

though they're running out of sizes.  I had to get red because they didnt have black in my size.

I would highly recommend the oxtars BTW.  I think my ankle would have been broken if not for them,  i crashed into a bush and the full weight of the motorcycle went right on my foot.  I was limping for a few days and i got bruised but If i had been wearing boots without the extra ankle support i probably would have had to go to the hospital.

This has become a very frustrating process for me. Im dead broke for the next few months as my bank account was drained from the down payment on the machine, plus trying to stay up with the monthly payment, bills, cell phone, food, and los angeles rent.

I cant afford real boots now, and i feel like an idiot now for riding in sneakers. I stated in an earlier thread im upset with the MSF for not stressing the importance of proper footwear.  I knew nothing about motorcycling before i took the course, and all i was taught was i needed something that covered the ankle. Nobody told me i needed something that prevented the ankle from flexing outside of its boundaries, which i know regular boots or work boots wont do. I wish i had thought of that on my own. I would have put less money down on the bike, and came away with the proper gear i needed.

Im torn between breaking down and buying these setup boots, or spending 70 on dr martens and buying real boots like the sidi vertigo's in another month or two.

Look mate put it this way. Motorcycle gear IS expensive. We can't all afford to buy the best gear out there. At the end of the day your Most Most important gear is your helmet, then jacket and gloves. Then you need pants and boots. Your not expected to manage to get it all together straight away. Sure wearing sneakers isn't the best footwear but nor would it make any sense to drop $70 on a pair of work boots which your going to replace. Don't worry about it. Check eBay for some cheap second hand motorcycle boots or just stick it out a little longer with the trainers. Alternatively borrow some boots from a friend.

If you can't afford em you can't afford em. Simple as. You will also get your motorcycle boots quicker if you didn't spend 70 on a pair of boots your going to replace anyway.

if you are really strapped on cash you can find some cheap hiking boots for like 40 bucks,  they dont have the best protection but its better than snickers and easy on your wallet.

What do you guys think of these?  About the same price and I think they look cooler.

try a swapmeet or fleemarket. Igot my timberland racing boots for $50 and they are awesome they go past my ankle and have toe sliders.

tripleb: Those are the ones i have, they are very stiff in the beginning and will take some getting use to.
