problems shifting???

hey, my GS
has issues shifting out of gear sometimes, if I play w/ the clutch a little it sloves the problem,
also it seems a little loud when downshifting, not grinding, but kinda clunky

Check your oil level!!!  even if your oil is only a little low it can affect shifting.  Best thing to do is check and top off everytime you gas up

Sounds Norma, especially when there are not a lot of revs.

Do not overfill the oil either because it becomes almost impossable to find neutral.

the mnain problem is getting from nuetral to 1st,
and yes, my oil may be a tad hight

Besides removing oil, try revving the engine while shifting to 1st and if that does not work rolling the bike will always find it.
