I think me and you had a little last minute duel on ebay for that cheap bike with the junk title. I'm glad another gstwins forum member got it atleast. I probably shouldn't have got it anyways...would have been over a 1000 mile round trip to pick the thing up. Just out of curiousity...what was your max bid?

Ohhhhhhh!!!!!! that was you? I figured it was another twin guy :mad: Just kiddin!

First time in a long time i got a good deal on anything. Yeah 1000 miles would be a hike and would not have been worth it to me . Hes about 30mins from me and goin to pick it up now.....Yep another project to add to my other 5 :cookoo:  And i wonder why i dont have any money! Toys for tots run is in december and i currently dont have a running street legal bike so  would like to get this one together by then.

Good luck trying to title the thing. Seems like it's going to be a major hassel.

Yeah you got an amazing price on the thing...I think it was so cheap cause he wanted pick up only. Too bad for him. I was gonna get it because I was almost positive I could part the thing out for more than that if I didn't end up needing anything from it. Good luck with everything...what are the other projects you have going?

So what kind of shape was that thing in when you went to pick it up. Pretty nice for the 155 you payed?

I have two frames with clean titles.  The only problem is that they were spare frames from a racer so all the tabs are cut off and the rear sub frame has been shortened.  They are sitting in my garage, I can take pics if you are interested.  They both look straight but I have no way to confirm that.

I'm looking at an 89 GS here in San Diego with a bad engine but a good title.  Are you still looking for a frame?

jar75

Yes i am. I know some of the guys had reasonable prices. Just waiting on a couple "shipped to your door final prices" to come back so i can figure out who my moneys going to.

let me know

Whats wrong with a Junk title? idk how it works in Illinois but down here in California there are quite a bit of salvaged title bikes on the road.

jar75

The state is on a mission to keep all salvaged and junk titled vehicles off the road, even if properly rebuilt. Also you need to be a licensed rebuilder and if you go to one to have it done they want buku$$$$$. I tried it, pulled my hair out, never again.... Unless i have a brand spanking new busa or somethin worth the time and effort i wont even bother.

Bummer man...still looking for a frame. Good luck. Had I won that auction I would have picked up the bike this weekend. What kind of shape was that think in once you actually picked it up and got to see the thing?

ok shape, some broken parts, needs a good carb clean and adjust, inside of tank is kind of rusted, broken headlamp mounts, no rear covers but all in allonce i get this project goin i will start from the ground up on it and make it look like a million bucks :thumb:

. needs some work but for the price its not bad...at least for me being local it wasnt. I wouldnt have traveled from Mo. for it but the 30 min drive wasnt bad for me.

****EDIT***** Wayyyy too many broken pieces and bad parts. Donated to a friend for a project sometiem last year...just updating posts now.

Prafeston

Well that makes me feel a bit better about it. Take pictures along the way. I'm sure we'd all love to see the progress as you turn this thing around.
