My bike is in the shop for its initial service.  I plan on doing most maintenance myself from here on out.

Are there any real differences between the 2006 and 2007 model besides faring color? The haynes service manual covers up to 2006.. im can only assume it will suffice?

I doubt there are any big differences between the two. I also have a 07 and I just recently bought the haynes manual.

no difference between 04 and 08 I think, with small exception of MICKEY MOUSE mirrors on 2008 models   

The 2008 has the same mirrors as the 2004-2007 years. It's just raised up in the picture....
