Hi, all!
I'm deeply torn since the day I saw Oklahoma_Mike's recent post about his three bikes, GS, SV, and Bandit S.
I've been looking at that beauty for a while indeed, but after seeing those nice pics I found myself craving for a naked SV 650.
I LOVE it. (Especially the first series, I mean the ones with more rounded lines)

Chances are I could find a good deal on one sooner or later, I've already made a quick search on the 'Net and there seem to be some available (second-hand, I mean) round here.
Thing is, I only bought my GS in March this year, so it's only nine months I've had it. And I must say I'm definitely happy with it.
But I'm still on my first set of tyres, and haven't changed my oil yet (change is due soon, I've ridden 7000 kms-4300 mi so far), so I'd feel kinda sorry selling a bike so early, it gives me a sense of "single use device", dunno how to explain

So,
here's the facts:

-KEEPING THE GS-

-I like its looks, so 80's
-strong, reliable, n00b-friendly
-cheap to maintain and insure; low fuel consumption (very good plus, considering our low wages and outrageous fuel prices )
-bike thieves don't even know that Suzuki released the GS 500 line in 1989

-TRADING MY GS IN FOR AN SV-

-..F \_/ ( |<, I'm in love with it!!!!!!
-more powerful (even though more juice is not what I'm looking for as first), yet suitable for advanced-beginner riders too
-lots of used ones available, it's winter now so I could get a good deal
-easier to sell than a GS, once I'm tired of it
-still reliable and easy to ride (AFAIK), considering that my bike is not only a toy to me , but must also serve as a reliable everyday transportation

Sorry for the long post and a possibly dumb poll.
But I felt the urging need to confide with you.

(Oh, and, Oklahoma_Mike, I blame you and your thread for all this!!!!! just kidding, man )

Never let the GS go. Atleast wait til you have a enough money you can keep the GS and have two sweet bikes.

just buy a c50. going fast is overrated, looking cool is much more important.

...and besides, I respect cruisers but I cannot see myself on one of those.

But I'm positive about the fact, that I don't want to keep two bikes. One bike and one car is already enough for me.

Now don't get me wrong "I ENJOYED MY GS AND WILL MISS IT" but I like my SV more at least it has a fuel light! anyway the way I see it, the SV stops better accelerates better corners better and I will be using it mainly for communting so that makes it a tad bit safer which is EXTREMELY important to me and I am getting slightly better mileage. So

Good points anyway. But I'm thinking over it very carefully, I'm not actually the kind of guy that buys a bike each year, first of all I gotta find as fair a deal as possible. I know I'd lose some serious €€€ selling my GS (well, chances are I overpaid a bit for it... ), plus, my bike has little or no market this side of the Alps. I'm getting prepared to keep it for a long time.

...and, I like turning the petcock when I enter reserve. It's oh, so vintage
